January 28th, 2024 - 100 Day Ceremony
On the 100th day since Annette’s passing, dear friends in Maputo held a special ceremony to honor Annette’s life and celebrate her transition as an ancestor to the spiritual realm. Friends and family gathered in Maputo and virtually to sing, share memories and contribute offerings to Annette’s alter.
April 4th, 2024 - Annette’s Birthday
Close friends traveled to Negril, Jamaica and celebrated Annette’s birthday with Emre, Troy and Phoenix. Annette would have been 45 years old.
May 27th, 2024 - Lantern Ceremony
Upwards of 50,000 people lined the shores of Ala Moana Beach Park in Hawaii as candle-lit lanterns were set afloat in the annual Shinnyo Lantern Hawaii ceremony to remember loved ones lost. The theme this year was “Many Rivers, One Ocean.”
